Choir rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings from 7.30pm - 9.30pm in our new venue, The Sanctuary within Mannofield Church. New members are welcome to join us in January 2025. Rehearsal Information
From August to December and from January to April. Rehearsals restart on Tuesday 7 January 2025.
We have a short “bring your own” tea/coffee break with particularly nice biscuits provided! We look forward to welcoming new members to rehearse for our next concert on Sunday 27 April 2025 in Aberdeen Music Hall. We will be performing Haydn - Mass in B flat, Harmoniemesse and Mozart - Great Mass in C Minor, K. 427.
We are a friendly, non-auditioning choir open to anyone over the age of 15. We are by no means all expert musicians or sight readers, but if you are able to sing accurately and in tune, have a secure sense of rhythm and a familiarity with musical notation, you may enjoy the experience of rehearsing and performing with us.
Our annual subscription rates are reviewed annually. For 2024/5 they remain as follows:
Full Member Subscription: £65.00
Concessionary Subscription: £45.00
Student/Under 18 Subscription: £0.00
Half-year rates are not offered.
Newcomers are offered 2-3 weeks to settle in before confirming their membership and being asked to pay their subscription. There is normally a modest additional charge for music hire each term, sometimes with an option to buy.
Our membership subscriptions offer excellent value for money. Anyone who needs it qualifies for our concessionary rate. Students are asked to pay only a £10 returnable deposit for music hire.
If you are a taxpayer we may be able to claim Gift Aid on your subscription. For every qualifying £1, the choir can claim an extra 25p from HMRC under this scheme, so we are always grateful to anyone who is able to tick the Gift Aid box on our annual membership form.

We hope you will come along in January and see if we are the right fit for you as a singer. We will do our best to ensure you are introduced to your section representative and to someone who sings the same part as you, to help you feel welcome.
Regular attendance throughout the season is important. If you are unable to attend a rehearsal, please inform our Membership Secretary in advance. Even if you are very familiar with a work we are singing we encourage members to attend regularly and not to miss more than four Tuesday rehearsals in any one term, or they may risk forfeiting their place at the performance. Attendance at all rehearsals on the weekend of a performance is essential other than in exceptional circumstances.
