Financial Support

The continuation of Aberdeen Bach Choir would not have been possible without the valued support of local and national organisations and companies, such as Aberdeen City Council and The Scottish Arts Council, both of which have supported the Choir in the past. Aberdeen Bach Choir is a member of Making Music, which represents and supports amateur performing and promoting societies throughout the UK.

James Lobban, our late conductor, left Aberdeen Bach Choir a substantial legacy in his will, and this legacy will allow the choir to expand its activities and ensure that its performances will be even better supported by high quality soloists and musicians. It has also allowed the choir to make a number of charitable donations over the years, particularly in support of musical projects.

Charitable Donations

During the 2020-2021 session, when the Choir was dormant because of the Covid pandemic, a total of £3000 was donated to Help Musicians, Create Aberdeen, Enable Scotland, Music 4U and Drake Music Scotland.

The choir has supported Aberdeen Cyrenians indirectly for a number of years through Iceberg Print and Design, which prints our programmes and flyers. In 2016, the choir provided a donation of £400 to help Cyrenians to set up a block of Music Group workshops involving their staff, volunteers and the homeless people who come to them for help.

If you would like your company's name included in our next programme by providing us with financial support (no donation is too small!), please contact the choir's Chair –
