From the Musical Director

Thank you to everyone who performed at the Brechin Festival recently. I hope you enjoyed singing in the generous yet intimate acoustic of the Cathedral. I was very happy with the Choir's performance. There wasn't just lots of musical singing from you but there was lots of emotion put into that singing, which makes for an exciting and satisfying choral experience. Well done!

The audience was very appreciative of our efforts and went along with the many requests to listen to a few pieces as a set before applauding. I think this idea worked well because it allowed them to compare more easily the different approaches composers took when setting the same text.

The trip, I felt, was a very enjoyable one. But, I'd like to hear your comments about the trip as well. So please do come and speak to me anytime, because I need to know what the choir likes (and doesn't like) doing, so that I can bear that in mind when working on developing the Choir's future musical activities.

Many thanks.
Gordon
