Byrd Alto Parts

Thanks to Musical Director Peter Parfitt, you can follow your part by playing the MP3 file on this page. It may take a short time to start playing so please be patient.

To download the file, right click on it (command click on a Mac) and save it on your computer. Please note that it is a large file and will take some time to download on a slow connection.

If you have any trouble playing or downloading the track, please email

with details of your device, operating system and browser.

MIDI Files

I have sourced MIDI files of the Tallis, Byrd, Purcell and Stanford works. Individual parts are not emphasised but you may still find them useful. Click on each file to save or (if you are given that option) to play it. Depending on your operating system, you may be able to play the files directly, but you can view the scores and play the files directly by installing MuseScore, a free music notation program for Linux, Mac and PC, with apps for iPhone (not free) and Android devices.

Tallis Byrd Purcell Stanford

Thanks to George Cameron for finding online versions (with emphasised parts) of the Howells, Stanford and Walton. Each link takes you to the website containing the files, which you may or may not be able to download. The The files on Howells and Stanford pages are MIDI files. The Walton files are MP3s and include synthesised vocals, which may be an acquired taste!
