Summer Workshop - Saturday 6th June
A preparatory rehearsal for our December concert where we will be performing parts 1, 2, 3 and 6 of Bach's Christmas Oratorio in German. This event is free and open only to choir members
This is a wonderful opportunity to get a head start on familiarising ourselves with the music, words and style of this great work. We will be under the direction of Andrea Brown, a leading UK choral conductor and Head of Choral Conducting at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
Registration from 9.30am; ready to sing at 10:00- 12:30. Breaks morning and afternoon, with a longer break 12:30 - 13:30 for lunch. We finish at 4pm. If you can stay for only part of the day you will be welcome to attend.
Venue: Balmanno Hall at Mannofield Church. What to bring: Your Bach Christmas Oratorio score, pencil, water, packed lunch and your own tea/coffee/drink.
Message from Paul:
I would like to take this opportunity to encourage as many of you as possible to attend this workshop. It will be an excellent opportunity to not only learn from Andrea but also to make a start on the material from the Christmas Oratorio before we restart in August. There is lots of music to learn and having the chance to sing some of it before the long summer break will be extremely beneficial for everyone.
