Ken Johnston composer

Ken Johnston was born in Glasgow, brought up in Aberdeen, and now lives and works in East Lothian.

Ken has a particular interest in choral music and has written many pieces for youth and adult choirs. These include arrangements of traditional Scottish songs and original works for upper or mixed voices.

In recent years he has been commissioned to write works for events such as Holocaust Memorial Day and the BBC’s Proms in the Park, and for performers including the National Youth Choir of Scotland, Edinburgh Quartet, Cadenza, and Hadley Court Singers.

A number of Ken’s pieces have been published by Boosey and Hawkes, NYCoS and Roberton publications.
