70th Anniversary Members' Events
As part of our 70th Anniversary celebrations, members are invited to take part in two special events in May and June following our April concert marking the start of our 70th Anniversary year.
70th Anniversary Party - Saturday 9th May
Please join us from 12pm to 2pm in the Lawrence Lounge at Fountainhall Church Centre (note change of venue) to celebrate our
anniversary, a "pot luck" style lunch - drinks and a special
cake will be provided by the Choir.
The event will feature a recital by
our lovely, four time NESMS scholar, Eve Begg.
Summer Workshop - Saturday 6th June
Free to attend, Members are invited to join us for a one-day workshop in the Balmanno Hall at Mannofield Church with Andrea Brown, Head of Choral Conducting at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. We'll be starting work on Bach's Christmas Oratorio, in preparation for our special anniversary concert in December. Our Patron, Professor John Butt OBE, will be our Guest of Honour for the December concert - he is a world-leading Bach expert! Please plan to attend this additional rehearsal workshop if you possibly can. Bring your score, packed lunch and drinks. There will be breaks in the morning and afternoon and an hour for lunch.
