Aberdeen University Choral Society - German Requiem
There is an open invitation for members of the Bach Choir to join Aberdeen University Choral Society to perform Brahms German Requiem (in English). Rehearsals start on Wednesday 15th January in the Butchart Centre and run from 7.30 to 9.45. The concert is on Thursday 26th March. If you are interested, a warning that the Butchart can be very chilly - an extra layer is recommended
Stonehaven Choral Karl Jenkins Requiem workshop
Saturday 22nd February 2020 from 10am - 4pm in St Bridget’s Hall, Dunnottar Avenue, Stonehaven AB39 12JJ. the workshop will be led by our Conductor: Ralph Jamieson. The cost is £15 which includes the hire of scores, tea/coffee and a light buffet lunch. This will be the fourth singing workshop which we have organised - some of you participated previously in the workshops on the Bach B Minor Mass , the Mozart Requiem and Carmina Burana. The death is announced of Graham Wiseman, conductor of Aberdeen Bach Choir between 1960 and 1967, who passed away on 25 August. Graham stepped in as guest conductor in the 50th anniversary performance of St Matthew Passion in April 2005. His funeral will take place at Perth Crematorium on Monday 2 September at 2:00 p.m.
There will be a social event during the second half of the rehearsal on Tuesday 17 September in High Church, Hilton.
